Today I got an e-mail from my cousin from the Mother Land telling me that my younger cousin took his own life 02-23-06. I’m really messed up about it, because maybe if I came home to visit a lot and let them know that they have someone to turn to, a better place to be, this wouldn’t of happened.. I’m going to be taking some time out to pray a lot and apologize to my cousin for not being there for him when he needed someone the most. He was only 16 yrs. old. It’s unfortunate that it took something this tragic to remind me to let every single one of my family members know how special and important they are.. I’m going to take some time out right now to show respect and pray a lot for my cousin.. Hopefully in time, I’ll earn my forgiveness. I’ll be back when I’m ok. Please take care all,

Random Acts Of Kindness (Day? Or just whenever?).. Is there really such a thing? In any case.. On Valentine’s Day I was at the theatre to watch a movie. While I was at one of those movie ticket machines, a man came up to me in a friendly smile that I thought I might of met him or something and forgot about him. It all happened really fast it seemed like when the man said to me, “haveyoueverheardofrandomactsofkindnessday?” Huh? I thought to myself. “no”, I answered “welltodayisyourluckydayhere,enjoy” the man smiled, handing me a ten dollar gift certificate to the movies :D I was very happy and very touched when he did that.. By some way off chance he might be reading this.. Thank You and I’ll pass on the random acts of kindness by doing a random act of kindness everyday as much as I possibly can. A person suggested that is what I should do is the whole point on why the random act of kindness happened to me :)

I was listening to an interview with Ian McCulloch (Echo And The Bunnymen’s vocalist) three years back when the Flowers cd was released.. (I can’t believe it’s been that long) He said something that really meant a lot to me.. He said home is a place where you can just be yourself and be happy just being you.. Metaphorically referring to going through life as a journey home, and he said he was half way there.. He was talking about the song Buried Alive. I hope you read the lyrics and can relate to what he is saying.. He is an amazing lyricist and will always remain my fav.. I brought up this song because most of my friends are having a bit of a rough time right now. I know the journey home is difficult and unfortunately one has to take that journey home, alone. But I know there is comfort and the road isn’t as bumpy when you have friends that love you. I just want to tell all my friends that are having a rough time right now that I love you. I am in tears.. My oh so beloved blender has found its swirling end.. First a blade broke, but it still worked pretty good, so no prob. there. Then the pitcher top part was a bit difficult to take off from the base.. I think I must of done something to pry it up and that's when it found its last blending end :( This blender has been with me since I was a kid. My parents bought it in The Stampede. It was top of the line then for blenders, costing something like $200 or something like that, just like our VCR. We were one of the very first to get one and it cost $1000 for a VCR when it was first class technology back in the day. Hard to believe eh? With all the cool technology now. In any case, the blender has been with me for like 26, 27 years or something like that.. Just like my VCR.. It lasted a good 20 years before it decided to take its final rest. I'm just so sad, because even though its an old blender, it could really do a lot that these new blenders don't have a chance.. When you spend the big bucks for something, you really get what you pay for.. A product that last a very Very long time. Its just hard to part with my blender. My blender will be sadly missed by me. I remember all my days of happy Kool Aid Slushies, Smoothies, Shakes, Icey Pop drinks, etc.. drinking that made me all so happy.. Now I'm just sad :(

I’ve recently re-discovered Stephen Tin Tin Duffy after singing the song Icing On The Cake in low breath at work all day.. I surfed around the net of whatever happened to that hansom man with such a beautiful voice. Oh my goodness, after surfing around the net, I stumbled onto this site http://www.thelilactime.com/newsblog.php I’m learning more about him now and becoming a fan. Its really exciting becoming a sort of new fan again of an artist that was there all along, when I thought he wasn’t around anymore. Stephen Duffy worked on a cd called Dark Circles and they go by the name The Devils with my childhood hero since I was 11 yrs. Old.. Nick Rhodes :D Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran was the only musician at the time that never got out of line during interviews. He was the only musician that I knew at that time that inspired me to live my dreams and with a lot of hard work, you can achieve them. He is very positive and such a passion about his work that it was very inspiring to me as an 11 yr. Old kid growing up and learning about life. Nick Rhodes will always have a special place in my heart by how much of a positive influence he was to me when I was a kid and has always remained that positive influence, even now that I’m an adult. I feel like that kid again, being inspired by Stephen Duffy now at this time in my life. When I was 6 yrs. Old and before there was Much Music, there was New Music on t.v. The first ever music show in Canada at the time.. I had the good fortune to be that young and seeing The Clash’s London Calling video for the first time and it literally altered my musical taste forever. That was the first time that I knew I wanted to be in a band.. It wasn’t till I was 9 yrs. Old and I saw the video for The Killing Moon that I became an Echo And The Bunnymen fan and that was when I knew for sure that I wanted to be a drummer like Pete De Frietas.. The dream has come and gone but, it was such an exciting time growing up and being in love with many things, mainly music and aspiring to be a drummer for a really cool band like Echo And The Bunnymen. Its really strange being an adult now and having that same excitement and passion that I had when I was 11 yrs. Old to dream and live the dream.. I feel very lucky, inspired and happy to be a fan of Stephen Duffy And The Lilac Time. Even today, I realized that my heroes Nick Rhodes, Pete De Frietas, Joe Strummer, Debbie Harry, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, John Lennon, Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan and the list goes on, are still major influences for me today as much as when I was a kid and I’m sure they are going to influence the new wave of kids that are in love with music today..

For those who know me, the results aren't surprising.. I've heard it all, the pathic looks, etc.. I actually scored 11-15, but same difference.. I'm suppose to act older.. I feel like a dinosaur that has too much of a childlike attitude.. I don't think its all a bad thing, I am pretty responsible etc.., but the looks that I get and the old lady type feeling that I have when I'm waiting for my turn at the Initial D game at the arcade after the 10yr old kid that can probably smoke me at the game..(groan)
I know these quizes are suppose to be for fun, but sometimes I wonder.. ???? I took the test again a couple of months after, taking the questions seriously and more true to who I am and the age just kept on going lower and lower.. 6 yrs old? That's it no more.. On the plus side I'm the fun one, on the neg. side well, I don't like the neg. side :(

Its back to work time for me, the end of my holidays :( Its always stressful for me going back to work, because I have such a low self esteem, I always feel, I'm never good enough. The weather in Calgary has been just beautiful, not too hot, not too cool, just right :D Its been wonderful for walks, etc..
My cousin's stay was swell here, not too bad. We went to The Stampede, took in some sales at the malls, etc.. The time seemed really short and we didn't get to do too many overly cool things, which kind of sucked, but maybe next time that she comes by again, we will have a great time :D
I took The Pepsi Challenge when I was in Vancouver.. I think I drank too much Pop during those last couple of weeks that I couldn't tell the difference at all between Coke and Pepsi.. My Mummy would be so disappointed in me, because she use to work for Pepsi for over 25 years before she retired. So you can pretty much guess that I was in total shame when I couldn't tell the difference between the two big soda companies because I grew up drinking Pepsi, but I also drank Coke, so it was pretty bad :(
Gained some weight over the holidays, but it looks like I'm losing it now.. I think it was stress related or addiction to my Pop drinking or something.. I also think it was because I didn't do too much of my regular routine, but its good that things are looking to be more on the healthier side now.. Just have to keep it up :) Just trying to get by in life, trying to do the best that I can.. I have to stay away from fizzy drinks, especially icey coca cola, or try to keep it in moderation.. Kinda hard when the drink taste so good Mmmmmmm..
I feel like Bridget Jones.. That movie is great, like it describes single women in their thirties to a tee.. Sad eh? They are coming out with a Bridget Jones Diary II, I wonder if it will uncanningly be true for women like the first one....lol
I guess I'm scared of what the future will bring for me.. Those typical questions I believe people my age have.. Will I be very successful in my career, will I ever get married, have children, etc.. Times a ticking for me.. Its like time just goes by super fast, especially when your having fun :D

An incredible and exciting time to my cousin goes out today. He is graduating from communications. The ceremony is today. I am so excited and happy for him. Its one of those incredible exciting experiences to have in a young person's life. I am very proud of him for working very hard for this day. He's already got job offers, which makes me very pleased for him, because when my other cousin graduated, it took him a while to get a job in Engineering and he got his graduates degree.
Its an important day, because Jasha is the youngest out of all my cousins in my Dad side. Now he can enjoy the fruits of his hard work in full glory along with my other cousins, because all of them are degree holders now :D Congratulations Jasha on your hard work. I know you will do well and move on in continued success :D

Oh my poor Flames. Sadly, Calgary is feeling the hurt of our beloved hockey team losing the Stanley Cup. I have to admit that it was exciting that our Flames made it so far. I still think that we are winners in a way that we made it finally to the playoffs after so many (7) years of being shut out. Hopefully next year our team will win and we will be the coolest hockey team again. Its been 15 years, now 16 years. Hopefully in the 16th year The Flames will win the Stanley Cup again and will continually win it for years to come :D Go Flames Go. Please :D
I've been a major Flames fan for years. Ever since the Oilers / Flames rival in the 80s when I skipped school to go to see the Flames parade. Was some really good times. I still believe in our team and hopefully The Flames will for sure win it next year. Its still Go Flames Go for me :)
